WHAT ARE TAROT CARDS?
Tarot cards are a deck of 78 cards used for divination and to gain insight into personal questions and situations.
The Tarot deck consists of two parts:
Major Arcana (22 cards) which depict significant themes and events in a person's life and their journey, such as The Fool, The Tower, and The World.
Minor Arcana (56 cards) which are similar to a traditional deck of playing cards, but with various symbolic images, and they represent everyday influences and events.
Tarot readings are conducted by a reader, who uses the cards to interpret a person's energy and provide guidance on their question or situation. The reader shuffles the deck and lays out the cards in a specific pattern, called a "spread". Each card in the spread is interpreted in relation to the question asked and the other cards around it. The interpretations can be influenced by the traditional meanings of the cards, as well as the reader's intuition and the context of the question.
Tarot has a long and varied history with roots in many cultures, including ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, and Renaissance Italy. Today, Tarot is used by many people for self-discovery, personal growth, and spiritual development.

SO WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE THEN?
Reasons to choose Tarot:
- If you prefer structured systems with set meanings for each card
- If you appreciate the rich history and tradition of Tarot
- You are willing to spend a bit of time to invest into learning the Tarot
- It is generally perceived that the Tarot takes longer to learn but the payoff is greater
Reasons to choose Oracle cards:
- If you prefer open-ended and intuitive systems with the help of a guidebook which is always included in the decks
- If you appreciate the versatility, visually appealing designs, and wider range of themes
- If you prefer a more simpler, quicker way to receive guidance and don't have the time to learn the Tarot
Ultimately, the choice between Tarot and Oracle cards depends on personal preference and what feels most resonant with the individual. It is not unusual for people to own one or several decks of both types.
