This incense box is made out of sheesham wood.
It has 2x round plates to hold your incense cones as well as a hole on both ends to hold your incense sticks.
On the end at the bottom, there is a little secret compartment that you can open out to store your incense packet (underneath) as well.
BUDDHA
A Buddha is someone who has reached enlightenment – a state of intellectual and ethical perfection. You will find him sitting or standing, smiling or laughing, and with his hands in a number of different gestures which all carry different qualities embodied by the Buddha such as grace, balance, compassion, wisdom, determination and courage.
ELEPHANT
The elephant symbolises happiness, good fortune, longevity, patience and strength. In general, it is believed the elephant is a symbol of responsibility as it is able to take great care of its offspring as well as their elders. It also has great determination and loyalty, being able to stand up for its family in natural habitat.
PEACE
This sign represents universal peace and was created by British artist Gerald Holtom in 1958. The three lines in the circle represent two letters – N and D, which stands for Nuclear Disarmament. The popularity of the symbol quickly spread during the Vietnam War and is now an internationally known symbol for peace among all people.
PENTAGRAM (PENTACLE)
The Pentagram is a symbol of a star that is encased in a circle. The top point represents spirit while the other four points represent earth, air, fire and water – elements which all contribute to life. It is said that wearing a Pentagram is a statement that one is connected with the elements and has a respect for the Earth. It is also a symbol of protection against negative forces.
TREE OF LIFE
The Tree of Life is a many-branched tree that represents the interconnectedness of all life on our planet. It symbolises wisdom, protection, strength and beauty. It gives life and everything which sustains us and is a powerful symbol of growth as the tree is the only living thing that continues to grow throughout its lifetime.
TRIPLE MOON
The triple moon is a Goddess symbol that represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone as the waxing, full and waning moon. The Maiden represents new beginnings, youth and excitement. The Mother represents fertility, stability and power. While the Crone is wise from a lifetime of experiences. It is also associated with feminine energy and psychic abilities.
TRIQUETRA
Also known as the ‘trinity knot’ or the ‘celtic triangle’, it is the combination of 3 interlocked loops with a circle in the middle. It is a symbol of protection, spiritual unity, eternity and infinity. Due to the 3 loops, it is thought to represent a trio of meanings such as past/present/future, mind/body/spirit, life/death/rebirth or creation/preservation/destruction.
YIN YANG
This symbol represents perfect balance and harmony as two halves come together to complete wholeness. Each half contains an opposing aspect because nothing is ever completely ‘yin’ or ‘yang’. Each aspect contains the beginning point of the other aspect in order for their definitions to exist. For example, day becomes night and night becomes day.
